This is our very first Golden Grove Apiaries (GGA) blog. The aim of this blog is to give an insight into what we do. We will try to keep it updated as often as we can. (When we’re not too busy with the bees)

Well, this Honey season has been kind to us.  Spring 2014 was a difficult one and we were having to feed hives later in the season than normal.  We put in a lot of effort to get our hives into top condition so that they can make the most of the good Summer weather when it arrives.  The weather finally came right (not a moment too soon) and we then had a very long period of hot settled weather.  This is just what we need for our bees to make lots of good quality Manuka honey.

We extract our Honey in our processing plant at our Taneatua base.  Our Team works flat out to get the honey off  hives and extracted so we can start work on hives in preparation for next season.

We helped out a few other beekeepers this season who found themselves without anywhere to extract their honey.  This all went well and all were happy.  We were only too happy to help as you never know when you may need help!

Be sure to get in contact if you need us!
